The 1949 Boys State Championship Basketball Team ***** The Phil Campbell Bobcats won the state basketball championship in 1947. This was the last year that every team in the state participated in one classification. Today the state is split into six classification. For this reason, the Phil Campbell Bobcats boys basketball program can claim they were the last TRUE state champions in basketball in Alabama.
